Celtics pursuit of the league title continues at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon.

Pick up a win, hope Rangers drop points on Sunday and the title party can start.

And what a party it will be because it has been a phenomenal season for the Hoops.

Predicted by many pundits in the game that it would take at least two seasons to catch our rivals, the job Ange Postecoglou has done so far is remarkable.

And it is all down to his shrewd recruitment. Every one of his signings has shone this season.

And none more so than Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The American, as we all know, has been instrumental in the heart of Celtic’s defence and it his form has turned him into a wanted man. By many clubs it seems.

Clearly Ange sees CCV as a priority signing when the season comes to its conclusion and with EPL clubs sniffing around him it does look like the Parkhead club face a battle for his signature.

Or maybe not according to Ben Wenham of the Spurs podcast, The Lilywhites.

Wenham told Football Insider,  “It seems like Carter-Vickers is going to go early doors.

“Quite where that is yet, I’m not sure. Some new names have been mentioned in the last few days.

“If I’m being totally honest I think Celtic will speak to Tottenham and say they will pay the money on 1 July.

“If they just say, ‘let’s get it done early and here is £6million that goes up to £10million with add-ons’, Tottenham would take that all day.

“I know from speaking to people who know his agency, we would have taken £2.5million last summer.

“The deal is done quickly and no one has to worry about it again.”

“So to get a much-improved fee would be something Tottenham wouldn’t think twice about.”

Wenham is considered an expert when it comes to Tottenhams transfer dealings and it is clear that no matter what happens in the summer, one thing is for sure. Carter Vickers is leaving Spurs.

Let’s hope his next destination is Paradise.
