As the Celtic support (I know I did at least) pondered over Ange Postecoglou’s ‘condescending’  interview yesterday, many people  where nodding in agreement, like myself, and others, mostly fans of the other club were saying the pressure is getting to him.

Where many don’t really know how Ange is feeling I went and looked at the people that know him best.

The Australian media and journalists. And what I found was pleasantly surprising.

Vince Rugari is a prominent journalist that works for the Sydney Morning Herald and he tweeted something very interesting, “good answer. i reckon he’d be loving this just quietly.

“remember what he said when YFM were about to win the title in 2019: “I don’t enjoy this bit. I enjoyed last year, when everyone was kind of doubting me and not really sure about where we’re heading.

“that’s now at Celtic.”

This was off the back of Ange’s interview featured on Sky Sports:

Are we seeing Postecoglou’s mind games here? Are we seeing a coach lulling the Scottish media into a false sense of security?

We are talking about a coach who backs himself and his process to the hilt.

Do we seriously think that a man with over 20 years experience in football which included managing the Australian national side in a World Cup and winning the Asian Champions League is going to chuck it in Scotland after only seven league games in charge?

Yeah me neither.

But Celtic is a different challenge to what he is used to and, contrary to the media narrative, he understands that only too well.

And THAT is the reason he will want to succeed, not quit.
