As Celtic’s transfer business continues and the spending doesn’t seem to be coming to an end, journalist Anthony Haggerty from The Celtic Way, has been assessing the incomings so far and reckons there is one arrival that will be a star for years to come.

Kyogo Furuhashi finalised his £5m move to Celtic from Vissel Kobe last week and is currently serving the final few days of his self isolation before he joins up with the squad but Haggerty has singled out Furuhashi as the signing of the window so far.

Speaking to Vital Celtic, Haggerty said, “The Japanese boy Kyogo Furuhashi, I think that’s his (Postecoglou) hands all over that because he knows that player.

“And that was a deal that was done in the dead of night. I think it was three in the morning it was announced in Japan.

“So that’s clearly clear that he wanted from his time with Yokohama F Marino’s.

“I think the Celtics supporters are very excited by that. Because he’s obviously looked at the squad since he’s come in and he’s identified gaps that need to be plugged.

“So Kyogo is one who he probably thinks he can do a job.

“And from everything that I’ve read and the clips that I have seen, they seem to think he’s a rising star in Japan.

“There was a Japanese soccer website called Soccer King, that said he was the one to watch in the Japanese national team and obviously Celtic have that connection with Shunsuke Nakamura coming from Japan before and being a massive success at Celtic.

“So if you can do anything or achieve anything like what Nakamura did then I think Celtic and Ange will be onto a winner.”

There is no doubt that Furuhashi comes highly recommended and anyone that has seen footage of the Japan international can’t help but be excited by his imminent arrival. If Furuhashi is half as successful as Nakamura was in his time, Celtic certainly have found themselves a real gem.
