With the turnaround of the teams fortunes, Ange Postecoglou has worked miracles. Of that there is no doubt.

The style of play, the professionalism he brings to the Celtic manager role and the two major factors that have been central to the Ange revolution.

The first is getting the fans onside. The introduction of attacking and free flowing football will always do that. Tommy Burns and Martin O’Neill both took over from turgid reigns before them and the first thing they done was get the football right on the park.

The second thing that Postecoglou has done is rejuvenate players that looked like they had no futures at Celtic Park. Tony Ralston and Tom Rogic being the two biggest names that come to mind.

Off the back of Ralston’s performances, former Rangers right back Alan Hutton has tipped the full back to be offered a new deal less than three months after signing a one year extension.

Speaking to Football Insider Hutton said,  “Performance-wise, if it goes solely on that, of course he deserves another one.

“There was a lot of pressure on him. It looked like Celtic were desperate to bring in a right-back. He was possibly the stopgap until that happened, but he’s taken that challenge on.

“He’s moved forward, he’s relished the challenge and he’s played excellent. Why would you not give him a new deal? I think they will.

“You’ve got him, Juranovic there who’s going to battle it out for right-back. It’s great competition to have.

“A Croatia international and Ralston, a player who’s really had a massive turnaround in form. He’s taken it on to go and nail that spot down, which he has done for me.

“I think he’s definitely worth a new deal.”

A new deal should definitely be in the thoughts of the Celtic manager considering Ralston’s current form but right now? Not for me.

I have been very impressed with the Scottish full back but offering a new deal too quickly could actually hinder his progress.

Any talk of a new contract should be held off at least until December where, with competition from Juranovic, we will see if there has been any REAL progress in Ralston’s game.
