As Celtic lurch from one poor result to the next, the fans are beginning to wonder where the club is going from here.

With Ange Postecoglou’s vision of football dissipating by the week, what is Dermot Desmond’s vision for the future of the club?

Could fan ownership eventually see it’s way coming to Celtic like it has with Hearts and Motherwell? Absolutely no chance says Davie Provan.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Provan was talking about the Gorgie club being run by their fans and said he would love to see the Hoops go down that road simply because not only would there be massive investment, but also the board would be held accountable by the fans.

For too long the Hoops board have been getting away with treating the fans with contempt and there is absolutely nothing they can do about it.

So is fan ownership one way to change that? It is, but it won’t happen because of one massive hurdle.

Dermot Desmond.

According to Provan, Desmond will not relinquish control of the Parkhead club because he still see’s the Hoops getting their move to the much maligned English Premier League.

And incredibly he see’s it happening sooner than we think, “He  [Desmond] still sees Celtic in England. And, I think that will happen in my lifetime.

“Football’s changing so so quickly. The the European Super League thing, that has not gone away. That has not gone away.

“And if they can win the legal arguments about restraint of trade and etc. Money will talk, people want to see the best..

“And I think if that happens, there might be an opportunity for the Old F*rm to play in England.”

Will Celtic ever get the move to the EPL?

YES

YES

NO

NO

This talk has been going on for close to 30 years now and still Celtic are no closer to the riches of the EPL.

If Desmond spent more time trying to modernise the club instead of chasing the ill fated move to England, we would not be in the utter dung heap we see ourselves in at the moment.

Although I do agree with Provan on one thing. The board, and Desmond, do need to be held accountable.
