With all the talk of the weekend being around Celtic’s disappointing draw with Livingston, journalist Mark Guidi was looking forward to the January window and tipped the Hoops to make a significant deal that could have a bearing on the league title this season.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Guidi was certain that the Hoops should pull out all the stops to get Jota signed permanently and was very complimentary about Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou’s management style, “If Celtic have the first option on them, I would do that deal all day long. Because you know that is the type of deal that Celtic like to do.

“Maybe a wee bit more expensive than usual. They tend to look between the two and four million market.

“But at six and a half million you would imagine that, Jota, within three or four windows, they could at least double their money, if not more.

“So it looks like a good bit of business. There is a good determination about them. You can see that he’s clearly got ability.

“Listening to the manager, it seems that’s a real man on a mission. There’s a real determination there from Ange Postecoglou.

“You can see it and that’s clearly rubbing off on the team. There is a long way to go. Nothing’s been won yet. But there’s clearly been progress.

“And he’s already had to fight through a couple of setbacks and people questioned him and his own ability to be the Celtic manager or not.

“But I have to say there’s definitely something about him the now that’s very impressive, and I think he’s going to take a bit of stopping.”

Celtic will have the chance to get the feel good factor back with a win against Ferencvaros on Thursday night but even more crucially, get their title hops back on track by defeating Dundee the following Sunday at Dens Park.
