The fear is real. It really is.

As Celtic go from strength to strength bolstering the squad and adding to the backroom team, the fans on the south side grow fearful as player link after player link leads to nothing and a host of their top players are ‘linked’ with moves away.

In the Hotline, (where the Record couldn’t even spell the manager’s name correctly) we  had these little gems from a couple of their fans:

“Had to laugh at Harry Kewell’s story in Friday’s Daily Record that when Ange Postecoglou phoned him to offer him a job at Celtic he was attending another interview at the time. The question is, did he get offered the job in McDonald’s?”

The irony of this is even if Kewell was being interviewed by another club, the simple fact he walked away from that after a quick call from Ange shows how big a draw Celtic are. So that really blows this guys argument out the water.

And this one is a laugh considering the Ibrox club have not spent a penny whilst re-signing their ageing players on new deals:

“Celtic are splashing the cash, for what? Just to get knocked out of the Champions League and parachuted into the Euro safety net competitions, leaving them with a hefty wage bill for players signed on long-term contracts and possibly looking at a new manager if big Ange fails to make the group stage next time?”

Mind when his club got papped out with 10 Malmö in the Champions League qualifiers to land in the ‘safety net’ of which competition again?

The one they tried to claim was bigger than the European Cup of course.

Some of these fans are seriously deluded and have excellent selective memories.
