As the season draws to an end and the focus for the Celtic fans being very much on finishing  strongly and possibly retaining the Scottish Cup, journalist Mark Guidi, made an astonishing claim on last nights Clyde 1 Superscoreboard that will not go down well with the Hoops fans.

At the beginning of the show, Guidi set out his stall early as he was reviewing the weekends fixtures with host, Gordon Duncan, when he made this incredible claim,  “John Kennedy, I’m told  is very much, he is very much in the frame and if he has a good run between now and the end of the season particularly Scottish Cup being up for grabs, there is every chance that John Kennedy could become the next permanent manager at Celtic”

Would you have John Kennedy as next Celtic manager?

YES

NO

At a time when many Celtic fans see Kennedy as much to blame, as Lennon for this season’s almighty collapse, this will not resonate well with the Parkhead faithful especially at a time where the Celtic board are about to send season ticket renewals out for season 2021/22.

With many star studded names linked with the Parkhead vacancy, the Celtic support have had their expectations raised at who will take the helm and if Kennedy does become the next gaffer, it will be seen by the majority of fans as the “cheap option”.

I’m sure Kennedy is a fine coach, in fact, I know he is. He gets an extreme amount of unfair criticism from the support for this seasons collapse in my opinion. Which for me is strange, because none have gave him an ounce of credit for his role in the Quadruple Treble seasons.

Whether it’s Kennedy or someone else, the board MUST get this appointment right because if next season pans out the same as this, it won’t be the managers head being called for.
