This was a strange one. Sometimes you get them and they make you laugh, but when it comes to the highly controversial events of the last few weeks in regards to the racism row surrounding Rangers, that is no laughing matter.
There are two reasons this Rangers fan caller to The Record Hotline caught my eye.
Firstly, he tried to claim that all clubs have a racist and sectarian issue at their clubs. Which of course they all don’t but the second reason was the incredible whataboutery the fan claimed when discussing fan behaviour in Europe, “Ex-SFA chief Roger Mitchell claims Rangers should be deducted points next season if fan behaviour doesn’t improve.
“I agree some fans are out of order which you get at every club.
“But I didn’t hear Roger Mitchell referring to some Celtic fans’ behaviour.
“Does Scotland really want to be represented in Europe by a club who have been fined by UEFA more than any other club in the country for fan behaviour?”
As soon as there is a but, you know someone is going to start talking out of their backside.

No. They don’t. Of COURSE they don’t and I’m sure by now the fans that caused Celtic some financial hardship by letting off flares and unfurling some banners and one idiotic fan running onto the pitch is something that the fanbase will address moving forward.
Now is he really comparing one idiot running onto a pitch to THAT of stand closures for racist and sectarian signing?
Are we really comparing letting off flares to their own club refusing to take tickets for away European matches because they couldn’t trust their own fans to behave?
The events of the last week will never be eradicated with narrow minded views like this Rangers supporter and until the club from Govan club’s supporters start looking in the mirror and not out the window for someone to blame, racism and sectarianism in this country will never be eradicated.
