As quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times, Bjorn Tore Kvarme – former Liverpool player and now agent of Birger Meling – has looked to address the current speculation around his client.
The Evening Times has reported how the full-back is an apparent target of the Hoops this summer with us seeing the likes of Kieran Tierney leaving the club.
Indeed, with us hopefully in the Europa League groups for the season, we need to try and add before the window shuts in just over a week and Meling could be one we look to add.
Quoted by the publication, then, it seems as though he could well be open to a move – though if Rosenborg overturn their deficit to Dinamo Zagreb in the second leg of the Champions League qualifier that could change.
Kvarme revealed:
“In general, it is always interesting for players to go to bigger leagues to play for bigger clubs. You just have to find the right moment. But if Rosenborg get into the Champions League that is interesting for Birger as well. We will have to wait and see what happens.”
It’s certainly interesting to see how this one all pans out with just over a week to go in the window.
