At last, an article that isn’t hinting at Eddie Howe on why he is or is not becoming the Celtic manager at the end of the season. But this is an article of a different kind.

I’ll admit, when I first read this managers comments I never really thought much about it but the more I look at them, is he putting his name into the hat and softly hinting at the Celtic board that he could be the man they are looking for?

West Ham boss, Davie Moyes, spoke of how Celtic have influenced his style of play while speaking to the clubs official website“I was brought up at Celtic where you need to play well and it meant you needed to score goals and be attack minded and I’ve always got that in my background.

Should Eddie Howe replace Neil Lennon?

YES

NO

“I’m also someone very conscious that we need to be organised and good enough defensively to win games, so I’ve got to balance that.

“At the moment we’re getting the goals, but I’ve got to make sure we stop conceding them.”

I’ll admit, it is reaching somewhat slightly, but the fact he references a style of play long associated with the Hoops and highlighting working on defensive weaknesses does make you think who the comments were actually for.

It’s no secret that the Celtic fans were not too keen on Moyes when his name was first mentioned as a potential candidate and with Eddie Howe seemingly the Celtic board’s first choice, the Celtic fans will be hoping that the new man will be announced soon so that preparation for next season’s campaign can begin.
