With Celtic fast approaching the January transfer window what is evident from last nights display in the Europa League is that not only does the first team need strengthened, so does the Hoops bench.

As Celtic capitulated in the last ten minutes in Leverkusen, many Celtic fans agree that the subs were the cause of the defeat.

And not because the subs where wrong, the quality replacing the players coming off just isn’t good enough.

Ajeti for Kyogo.

McCarthy for Bitton.

Johnston for Jota.

All players that simply do not match the ability of those they are replacing.

But all that could be about to change.

Speaking on Go Radio, Ange Postecoglou’s former right hand man, Craig Moore, reckons the Hoops fans are about to see some exciting transfer business in January and name dropped a players name that has been doing the rounds for months now, “You’re talking about Kyogo there.

“Will we see some more Japanese players? I have no doubt come this transfer window just around the corner.

“Maeda, I think Yokohama Marinos has been in the press in recent times.

“Is he a player that Celtic are going to see come January?

“There’s going to be a market there that obviously Ange knows very, very well.

“So I’m sure Celtic supporters are hoping what Japanese players can come in and if they’re as good as Kyogo.”

Ever since Maeda’s name was dropped in, Celtic fans have been raving with excitement as they Googled his name and looked on YouTube at his performances.

There is no doubt the boy is a player, but is there doubt at whether the board can seal that particular deal?
