With nearly 10 days gone since new Celtic Chief Executive Dom McKay took the reigns of the club, there is still no news on who will become the next Celtic manager.

It’s been over nine weeks since Neil Lennon was relieved of his duties and it has been nine weeks of intense speculation as name after name has been linked with the job.

But the baffling side story to this? Transfer business is still being conducted behind the scenes at Celtic Park.

With a number of players recently being linked to the Hoops, Former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie has been lamenting the behind the scenes activity while speaking to the Football Insider.

McAvennie has said that with all the player activity going on, there MUST be a new manager behind the scenes orchestrating the deals, “It might be that there’s a manager behind the scenes who’s telling them who to go for,”

“I can’t see Celtic going and buying a player without a manager in place.

“The situation is strange, why would you buy new players if a new manager might come in and say ‘I don’t want him’?

Is Eddie Howe the man for the Celtic job?

YES

NO

LET'S MOVE ON

“There’s a chance that they might not be bothered about what the new guy thinks, or someone is telling them to get him.

“It would be such a waste of money if a new manager came in and didn’t want him. It wouldn’t be a good start to their Celtic career.

“I’ve not heard anything but if that report is true, it means Celtic are talking to a new manager.”
