Nir Bitton is a man of integrity and, unfortunately, he’s had to come out and defend himself in the face of internet trolls over the fact that he is Israeli.
He might not even be at the club for much longer with replacements something the Bhoys might be looking for this summer but that’s no reason for him to suffer the abuse he has.
Of course, it’s obviously a minority of morons giving him stick and you can’t monitor and stop everyone but, even so, I think it’s important we rally around him as he is not to blame for what’s going on between his country and Palestine.
Indeed, he’s received dog’s abuse because of having to serve in the military, as all in his country must, whilst his wife also has attracted nasty comments.

The Verdict
Obviously, there’s a tie with Palestine and our club but, at the same time, we cannot overlook Nir and tar him with the same brush.
He’s a good guy and has nothing to do with what’s going on so hopefully, his message will see things ease up on him.
