Every Celtic fan can see that the first team needs some serious strengthening to get ready for the league campaign.

Looking at the current state of affairs it does seem like the club should forego European competition this season to allow the manger to not only  focus on the rebuild, but going by Saturdays performance against West Ham, to avoid any results that could further embarrass the club.

Mail Online journalist Stephen McGowan has given an update on expected outgoings and more importantly, incomings due at Celtic this week and ha also revealed the positions Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has earmarked to strengthen ASAP.

In his report he claims that Odsonne Edouard’s £20m move to Brighton is still on and that The Seagulls will make their move for the Frenchman after Wednesday nights Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland.

However, McGowan also says that Crystal Palace are watching with interest and the board will be hoping that a potential budding war could drive the price up.

McGowan also revealed that Ange is looking to strengthen the right back position as a matter of priority and says the George Baldock deal is dead because of “difficulties” on dealing with Sheffield United but Portuguese fullback Aurelio Buta’s deal is “taking shape”.

The respected journalist has also said that Postecoglou has highlighted the need for a holding midfielder, a left winger and another centre back and the fans will be hoping that Dom McKay can get the wheels in motion to tick these off Postecoglou’s shopping list before the end of the transfer window or earlier.
