As kick off to the final Glasgow Derby of the season approaches, Barry Ferguson has made a massive call on what he believes the Celtic team will be for the kick off at High Noon.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Ferguson thinks Celtic will start with enigmatic striker Leigh Griffiths up front partnering Frenchman team mate, Odsonne Edouard, up top in the derby, “I think he’s a fantastic finisher. I don’t know what’s happening in terms of the contract situation but as I said, I think it could be a real possibility that you may see both the Leigh Griffiths and Edouard starting up top.
“After the formation and the performance that Celtic gave the last time they came to Ibrox a couple of weeks ago, I think it will be in the back of John Kennedy’s mind that he may go with a different formation to maybe surprise Rangers.
“Because I’m sure Rangers will think they will come with the formation that John Kennedy’s played since he’s commanded the manager’s role. So I’ve got a sneaky feeling that Leigh Griffiths may start.”
It is a bold prediction and one that many Celtic fans will hope that Kennedy will start with. There is nothing to lose and if the Hoops have any aspirations of stopping Rangers unbeaten league run, then starting with the two up top will give the Bhoys the best chance to put their rivals to the sword.
