When Ange Postecoglou signed for Celtic I think it is fair to say that he was not a well known coach around the world.
Well maybe that’s harsh.
It’s clear in the coaching circles of world football he was known, but in the mainstream media, and amongst us regular fans, no one knew who he was.
Even the famous former Sky Sports pundit, Jim White, admitted that he never knew much about the Celtic gaffer.
Appearing on The Go Radio Football Show, White said, “I would think Celtic seem to be going places under Ange Postecoglou and I think Celtic look good for it. I would say.
“I remember doing the Euro’s and I spoke to Kevin Muscat, and we knew nothing about Postecoglou and Kevin knew him inside out.
“And he said, “You get this guy time he will settle.‘
“Of course, it pained Muscat to say it that Celtic would do well with Postecoglou.
“But I think on the longer run they will, and now he’s bedded in, they’re beginning to look good under him.”
So it seems that the job Ange Postecoglou is doing at Celtic is being noticed down south as he starts to make his mark on the Glasgow giants.
