We made a winning return to league action at the weekend, which is exactly what we needed. After an international break, it’s important to get back to winning ways quickly, and fortunately, that’s precisely what we did.

Hopefully, that will serve us well on our return to European action, too. We’re set to take on Rosenborg on Thursday in a game that we will be expected to win.

The fixture is still a couple of days away, and so it is unclear as to who may feature, but pundit John Hartson thinks that he’s got a pretty good idea of one man that will play.

Scott Brown is back fit again, and according to Hartson, the midfielder is sure to go right back into the team.

In his column for the Evening Times, he said: ‘His leadership qualities and his cast experience are so important to Brendan Rodgers that I just don’t envisage a point just now when he is overlooked when available’.

Certainly, Brown is the leader of our team, and so whilst most fans may recognise that he’s not the most gifted player on the pitch on any given week, he’s certainly one of our most important.

On a big European night, leadership is essential – and Brown has it in droves.
