Kyogo Furuhashi is a breath of fresh air to the Scottish game.

Quick, dynamic, superb finisher and filled with humility. His enthusiasm and passion for playing the game has captured the hearts of the Celtic fans and the imagination of the pundits and reporters.

His endeavour and attacking intent has been lauded but his treatment on the pitch has been largely ignored.

He has been subject to some terrible off the ball treatment that has gone, largely, ignored.

So when a semi prominent journalist decides to tweet about his very visible treatment on the pitch, it not only provoked a brilliant response from the Celtic fans, but the rather predictable pile on by the Rangers supporters.

Andrew Dickson, who has worked for Sky Sports, sarcastically tweeted, “Hope wee Kyogo is doing all right this evening, looks like another fair old clout he took to his head earlier. I’m just thankful he never had to play against the Ross Tokelys of this world.

“Keep him in your thoughts tonight please everyone.”

Now we all know Dickson’s agenda here. His support for the blue half of Glasgow has seriously clouded his judgement and started a narrative now that, somehow, Kyogo is a cheat.

Let’s not forget he was physically assaulted against Livingston. How he reacted is neither here nor there. How would Mr Dickson react if Obileye slapped him on the head without warning? How would any of us?

But, to be fair to Dickson, he is taking on the noble quest to eradicate cheating from the game, so for that he should be commended. Shouldn’t he?

Dickson’s twitter silence on Sakala’s swan dive for the Aberdeen penalty and Aribo’s five minute roll around after the Ryan Porteous “tackle” when there as no contact just shows his tweet up for what it is.

A blatant agenda driven narrative to try and whip up some sort of publicity to tar Kyogo as a diver or a cheat.

And it is not surprising he is the second Rangers supporting media man to take aim at Kyogo rather than condemning the treatment he is getting on the pitch.

Want to take on the quest to eradicate cheating? I suggest Dickson looks closer to Ibrox.
