This is going to be a day for it.

Every minute of today will be spent checking notifications, emails and, maybe, Sky Sports News as the clock on the final day of the transfer window ticks down.

Last night we had a flurry of activity regarding Celtic’s transfer business and this time it was the turn of Hoops dynamic midfielder, Ryan Christie.

Christie has been in sensational form since the dawn of Angeball, but was largely anonymous in the Glasgow Derby, and fans were probably hoping that with the Scotland midfielder enjoying his football once again at Paradise, he could maybe be persuaded to extend his contract.

But it was not to be. Christie was the subject of much speculation last night as my own site reported an update from Alan Nixon as he tweeted, “Ryan Christie. Late drama. Burnley agreed a deal. Bournemouth have now come in. More wages at Burnley. But better chance of playing where he wants at Bournemouth. Needs a quick decision …”

There was further developments during the night as details started to emerge from the trusted journalist about the move as he claimed that Bournemouth are currently now favourites to land the Scotland midfielder:

And when pressed on how much he would be leaving for, Nixon gave numbers that would have looked ridiculous just twelve months ago:

I suppose that kind of money for a player that could leave for free in three months is great business but to let this situation get to where it has has scandalous by the hoops board and I sincerely hope they have learned lessons here.
