Celtic assistant manager Johan Mjallby praised the efforts of midfielder Beram Kayal for his performance in the 3-1 home victory over Hibernian.
“We slacked off a wee bit in the second half, but sometimes that happens. It was still a professional performance and we’re very happy” – Johan Mjallby
Gary Hooper scored twice and missed a late penalty after Anthony Stokes had netted the opener against his former club.
However, Mjallby was keen to pay tribute to the contribution of Kayal in returning Celtic back to the top of the table.
“He is good on the ball – he goes after attackers and wins the ball back for us,” the Swede told BBC Radio Scotland. “He’s very important and it’s probably why the supporters rate him so highly.”
Former Celtic midfielder Liam Miller converted from the spot for the visitors after their opponents had raced into a 3-0 interval lead.
“We slacked off a wee bit in the second half, but sometimes that happens,” Mjallby added. “It was still a professional performance and we’re very happy.
“We asked the players to keep on going, because you never know the situation at the end of the season with goal-difference.”
