Leigh Griffiths fired Celtic into the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday, just his latest vital goal for the Hoops in recent matches.
The 28-year-old now has three goals in his last three games, two of which were winners against Rosenborg and St Johnstone.
The match at McDiarmid Park didn’t look to be going his way for the majority of the encounter after he missed a number of golden chances, but he persevered and popped up with less than 10 minutes to go to score the vital winner in a 1-0 victory.
He is now the club’s top scorer for the season with five in total.
With Odsonne Edouard losing form recently, the Scotland international is certainly making his case to be the club’s starting striker in the weeks and months to come.
Fans are delighted to see him stepping up and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his mid-week performance…
If Edouard is worth 9 million then Griffiths is worth 30 million

Don’t understand fans hatred towards Leigh Griffiths. Can’t argue with his scoring record. Baring in mind a lot of those goals were in a dreadful Ronny Deila side. Hardly had a run in the team under Rodgers and still puts the ball in the net when needed. Best CF we have. Fact

Leigh Griffiths has scored our last 3 goals – 2 were winners.
Just a few weeks ago he was nowhere near the team.— Connor (@_C99L_) September 26, 2018
