Ange Postecoglou, I think we can all agree, has been a sensation at Celtic.

Since the Australian arrived in Glasgow back in 2021, he has revolutionised the way the whole club operates.

From our transfer business, to fan engagement to the way we play football, it is fair to say we are a far cry from the disastrous ten in a row season and it is showing on the park.

Five dropped points this season. An incredible feat for any team in the SPFL.

But for Ange, this marks just how far he has brought this team as he closes in on two Celtic records that I personally thought we were unlikely to see broken.

Kenny McIntyre was reviewing the 3-1 over Hearts last night at Celtic Park and peaking post-match on BBC Sportsound, McIntyre said, “They’re certainly not too far off the Brendan Rodgers Invincibles side was, as far as points are concerned.

“I just wonder if they’ll be eying that up?

“106 points Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side managed to attain in season 16/17.

“This Celtic side, if they win all their games, they can get to 109.

“Perhaps they’ll be looking at their goal tally as well.  Their record, as I mentioned earlier, is 116 for a season. They’ll be eyeing that record up too I would imagine.

“They managed to score a few goals this evening to go to within 26 of that feat.

“Those are small potatoes though. It’s all about the silverware and Celtic have taken another big step to retaining their championship.”

Ange will, of course, not be looking at or thinking about anything else other than closing out the league title.

Anything else is secondary to him.

But for the supporters, closing in on two records like that is important for one thing and one thing only.

It means we are winning. And scoring plenty of goals. And that is all we look for in Ange’s team.

I will be leaving Vital Celtic at the end of the month but will continue to cover club news in another capacity. More details later.
