Kris Boyd’s ludicrous Edouard transfer claim

It’s no wonder Hoops fans want Kris Boyd removed from Sky Sports match analysis teams whenever Celtic play. His incapacity to remain impartial, plus his inability to get facts correct and string a sentence together on live television, makes watching and listening to his drivel absolutely monotonous.

Should Kris Boyd work on another Celtic game?

YES

NO

His latest serving of critical unbiased analysis of one of Celtic’s stars has to be read to be believed. Boyd is suggesting that no top clubs will look at the French U21 international because of a dip in form is not only mischief making but absolutely ludicrous. Edouard is one of France’s top talents.  His goals sent the French u21 side to the Euro’s and he has been linked with a move to some of Europe’s top clubs this season.

Boyd, quoted in Birmingham Live, said, “He’s a terrific player.

“In terms of playing in Scotland, he’s up there with the most complete strikers.

“What I will say is this. Why has it taken him until now to perform? The top teams will be looking at that and wonder if there’s a doubt about his attitude and work rate

“There’s no doubting his ability, but it took until January, February time for him to turn up. A lot of the top teams would look at it and question that.”

Every top player in world football suffers a dip in form at some point in their career and Edouard is no different. Top goal scorer in Scotland for two seasons in a row, and even in this disaster of a campaign, the talented Frenchman has still bagged 24 domestic goals and 7 European goals.  In season 2019/20, Edouard claimed 34 domestically and 13 European goals.

Boyd should remember a great saying in football.  Form is temporary, class is permanent.
