Italian Serie ‘A’ club Lazio have rubbished reports they are interested in signing Celtic striker Georgios Samaras.

“Currently he is not a goal of ours” – Igli Tare; sporting director SS Lazio

The Greek international still has six months remaining on his existing contract and has already been offered a new deal by the Scottish champions.

Meanwhile, Lazio are enduring a disappointing campaign thus far and currently find themselves eighth in the table and a full twenty-three points behind leaders Juventus.

“I have not talked to British newspapers,” Lazio sporting director Igli Tare told lalaziosiamonoi. “Samaras? Currently he is not a goal of ours. At the moment, the market is not a priority for Lazio.

“First we have to reverse the trend we`re currently experiencing in the League,” he added. “Only then can we think about possible reinforcements.”
