Lean on me – Captain focuses on Soro and Lennon

|

Celtic skipper, Scott Brown, fronted the media today in the pre match conference ahead of the Livingston game tomorrow night and spoke of the difficulty of self isolating and not being able to affect anything on the pitch.

Brown was one of thirteen players deemed a close contact to Christopher Jullien and was forced to self isolate for ten days meaning he missed the home games against Hibernian and Livingston, where the team dropped four points, effectively handing their rivals the title.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Brown said, “Isolation was hard, to be fair, seeing the lads playing and everyone not being able to help was hard.”

But his attention quickly turned to young Ismaila Soro.  The young Ivorian has been in outstanding form since grabbing his chance in the first team and Brown was beaming in his praise, “Soro’s been fantastic. He’s a great lad. I’ve been playing a lot of games, 60 games the last 14/15 seasons at this club and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. Once he’s came in, he’s taken his chance.

“For me it’s about helping Soro as much as I can. He’s still young, he’s really keen.”

Brown also offered his support for the Celtic boss and was adamant that the focus should be on the team and not playing him, “I’m here for the gaffer whenever he needs me and for the lads. It’s not about me, it’s about this football club. It’s about putting the best team on the park, whether it’s Livi at home or Rangers away. We need to worry about that and not about me playing week in, week out.”
