Lennon addresses talk of fan favourite arriving

|

This point of the year is all about summer transfers and that, of course, is what we are majorly focused on.

However, it would be silly of us to not notice the fact that one of our great managers has lost his job already in pre-season and that’s Martin O’Neill at Nottingham Forest.

Spending only a few months in charge of a side where he was a true playing great, he’s now out of the job and it remains to be seen where exactly he ends up – if he gets a new dugout job at all.

Indeed, he could move into a different role such as Director of Football and that is something that was posed to Neil Lennon as to whether he might end up back at the Bhoys.

Lennon, though, has moved to suggest that isn’t on the radar at the moment – though it would be interesting.

Quoted by the Scottish Sun, he said:

“Could he come back   here in some role? He is fed up telling me what to do. He’s been doing it for 25 years! That would be an interesting one, but it’s not on the horizon,”

No return for O’Neill just yet, then, but it might be an idea in the future. Potentially.
