Celtic manager Neil Lennon has addressed talk of us looking to sign Victor Wanyama in the January transfer window from Tottenham.

The Kenyan midfielder proved a real hit at Celtic when he was at the club and duly moved to Southampton in the Premier League before joining Tottenham.

He’s had a good career south of the border, too, but in recent seasons he has struggled to really get into Tottenham’s side and you’d not be surprised to see him leave the London club sooner rather than later.

And, as quoted by the Scottish Sun, Lennon suggested that he wouldn’t close the door on a move for the player, though he also wouldn’t guarantee that we’d actually be able to mount a challenge for him:

“Could we look at it again in January? We’ll have to wait and see. We might not want to with the balance of the squad now, as well as the affordability.”

He’s a cracking player on his day and still has plenty to offer but would we be able to afford his wages? If we can, then maybe we can go for it.
