Celtic manager Neil Lennon remains confident he has enough players still available to successfully cover the ongoing injury problems at Parkhead.

“We have a number of injuries to cope with, but we have got a squad to cope” – Neil Lennon

Already without skipper Scott Brown following recent surgery, in-form forward Kris Commons was the latest joining the list at the weekend following a collision with his own team-mate Beram Kayal. His ankle ligament damage is still to be fully assessed.

The Hoops also lost midfielder Victor Wanyama to a red card against St Mirren, which they fully intend appealing against. Should that prove unsuccessful the Kenyan international misses the weekend game with Hibernian and the forthcoming Scottish Cup semi-final with Dundee United.

“We have a number of injuries to cope with, but we have got a squad to cope,” Lennon admitted to the Glasgow Evening Times. “Hopefully we will have James Forrest and Mikael Lustig fit for next week.

“I hope we have James back for the game against Hibs on Saturday or the Scottish Cup semi-final the following weekend,” he continued. “He is a huge loss to us and the way we like to play.”
