Neil Lennon was asked for an update on Odsonne Edouard’s fitness ahead of the Betfred League Cup final against Rangers on Sunday and without giving too much away it looks as though the Frenchman will make the starting line-up – just as reported in The Scottish Sun.
Lennon said:
“Edouard was out running today and will be assessed again tomorrow and maybe train on Friday”.
Having secured victories in every game that Edouard has been missing, thanks in no small part to the form of Ryan Christie, Lennon will be hoping to give his side, and fans, an added boost when the team is announced on Sunday morning.
With Rangers defence looking shaky under pressure from Aberdeen, Edouard will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing them at Hampden.
Celtic fans reacted to Lennon’s response on Twitter knowing full well the mind games that the gaffer is playing.
