Neil Lennon is on the ropes. Even for the most hardened fan, it’s clear that he isn’t up to the job as yet another disappointing result is added to the list.

The concerning comment for me, was in his post match analysis where he admitted that he doesn’t know where the all conquering team from last season has went. That is literally your job Neil, to know!

In his post match press conference Lennon was asked if the end is near, the Irishman replied: “I can’t answer that. You’re asking the wrong person.

“I’ve been concerned about my position for a long time,

“Listen, when I came in I didn’t know how long I was going to be in the job for because there was an outcry of ‘maybe he’s not good enough, blah blah blah…’

“But I’ve won five trophies out of six so far. Maybe the league is beyond us but I don’t think there’s been a balance and that’s fine.

“That’s fine, I can take all that. I’ve just got to keep working away and keep believing we’ll turn results into wins.”

When asked about his thoughts on the flak he has been taking in the media, Lennon hit back, “I don’t care (about pundits). Taken a battering from who? Pundits are entitled to give their opinion, I don’t mind.

“That’s what they’re paid to do but I don’t have to believe it, adhere to it or listen to it.

“From my point of view, it’s not been good enough. It’s not been consistent enough and we’ve not played well enough.”

Lennon forgetting to add at the end, “they’ve not been managed enough”
