Quoted by Celtic’s official channel before the Champions League qualifier with Nomme Kalju, manager Neil Lennon has not been able to put a timescale on the injury recover of Tom Rogic.
The boss was speaking before the game and, though that is now passed, the news on Rogic is still relevant and it’s something that might be a little concerning.
Rogic has been out for some time and it is clear that he is still not particularly close to getting back into the green and white with him working through rehab.
Indeed, Lennon revealed that he is just going through the motions but is well short of where he needs to be to be match fit:
“He’s doing a lot of rehab work at the minute. So, again, he’s just in his rehab. He’s simply a week down the line from last week. I can’t give you a timescale on that. It’s not a long-term injury, but in terms of his condition he’s missed a lot of pre-season work.
“He has to catch up on that.”
A worrying update, perhaps, but all we can do is wait for him.
He’s a top player on his day but he has had fitness issues of late and so we are arguably used to playing games without him.
