Lennon reveals Celtic star on way out

|

Celtic star Hatem Elhamed will be leaving Celtic within the next 48 hours according to Celtic manager, Neil Lennon.

Lennon confessed a fee has been agreed between the two clubs but didn’t confirm the buying club although it is suspected it is Celtics old Champions League sparring partner, Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

Speaking to the media tonight Lennon said,  “Hatem Elhamed might be going back to Israel.

“A fee has been agreed, I’m not sure it has been finalised yet.

“He’s really struggled with life here. His wife and young son are back in Israel and he has had a really tough time of it mentally.

“He really wanted to go home so that deal is going to come to fruition I think either today or tomorrow. “

It is not a shock that the versatile international defender was wanting away as his personal circumstances meant he found it difficult to settle in Scotland.

Elhamed is a very solid defender and calm and accomplished on the ball.  A steady and dependable defender but was also affective going forward when asked to play the full back position.

It is a shame he didn’t settle because I think he could have went on and been a very good defender for the club.
