As quoted by the Daily Record, Neil Lennon has revealed that he has plans to give James Forrest a new contract with the club that will prolong his stay for some time to come.

The winger has been at the club for his whole career and in that time has racked up hundreds of appearances.

He perhaps hasn’t always had it easy but you cannot deny that he has never gone hiding and last season he was one of our best players.

Indeed, at this point in his career he is at the peak of his powers and it makes sense that the Bhoys want him to extend his current deal – with that still having a decent bit of time on it to run.

Lennon revealed:

“He still has time left on his deal but we have already talked about an extension for him.”

This is exciting news and something we can all get behind.

Forrest is a fine player and one of the leading lights in the squad, it makes sense to keep him for as long as we can.
