Celtic’s season properly got underway yesterday evening as we took part in our first Champions League qualifier of the new campaign in Bosnia.

These games often see us travel to take on teams we’ve not heard of but in FK Sarajevo we had a banana skin awaiting us.

However, we did a professional job on them and should have enough to progress into the next round for sure.

We will not, it appears, be joined by young Sergio Quintero, though, with the player impressing for Ecuador recently at the Copa America.

Indeed, Neil Lennon was asked about the chances of signing him this summer and his reply suggested he knew nothing about such talk.

Quoted by the BBC, the boss said:

“Never heard of him.

It seems, then, we can forget all about this potential arrival, unless Lennon is looking to play it very cool and surprise us all with his signing.
More than likely, though, he is not taking that approach.

  • Don’t we have too many players as it is. Some, we know are good quality, but some, as was shown last season were not up to the mark when it mattered,I.e. against rangers at dungeon ibrox. They will be up for it even more this season. We have better quality, but we must match their aggression.
