Celtic secured a solid 1-1 draw with Copenhagen to take back to Parkhead next week and put themselves in pole position to reach the last 16 of the Europa League but the positive result was in no small thanks to the man they call “The Great Wall“.

Fraser Forster made a stunning penalty save with 12 minutes left to play to keep the scores level and leave the Hoops needing to just keep a clean sheet in the home leg to guarantee progression to the next round.

The giant keeper has been in inspired form since returning north of the border and was almost single handedly responsible for securing the league cup earlier in the season thanks to a series of fine saves and – of course – the match defining penalty save from Alfredo Morelos.

Should Celtic break the bank for Forster?

Yes

No

No

The clamour for his loan switch from Southampton to be made permanent will only increase as the Englishman makes a serious claim to regain his England international place, Bhoys fans took to Twitter in reaction to Forster’s save with only one thing on their mind.

Southampton will still want decent money for Forster in the summer but given how important he has been over the course of the season he would be worth every penny.
