Celtic manager Neil Lennon intends to use striker Georgios Samaras over the remaining games despite refusing new terms at Parkhead.

“He’s been a big, big player and can take a lot of satisfaction, if and when he does leave” – Neil Lennon

The 29-year-old Greek forward hasn’t actually started since the end of January and Lennon admitted his form had probably slipped over recent months.

“It is looking more and more likely that Georgios will be playing his football elsewhere unless his representatives
come back to us,” he told BBC Scotland. “I don’t want to write his epitaph just yet and we know his strengths when he’s in full flow.

“He’s been a big, big player for me and he can take a lot of satisfaction, if and when he does leave, for his contribution here.”
