Outgoing manager Neil Lennon hasn’t ruled out a return to Celtic sometime in the future.

“I’m leaving on a high and the door might be open for me going back one day” – Neil Lennon

The 42-year-old left the club yesterday following almost fourteen years as a player and coach. However, the Northern Irishman admitted the door was still open to a possible return at a later date.

“I went out of Celtic on a high and I wanted to do the same as manager,” Lennon told the Daily Record. “I’d like to think we are in a far stronger position than we were four years ago when I took over. I won the double as a player and as a manager. And I took the club to the last 16 of the Champions League.

“Off the pitch the club is also extremely healthy and in a very strong position,” he continued. “The door’s always open, that’s the beauty of my decision. I’m leaving on a high and the door might be open for me going back one day.”
