After an impressive victory against Dundee Utd at Celtic Park today, Celtic manager Neil Lennon spoke of his delight at the performance of the team. Young Ismaila Soro was given special praise for his power house display and his exquisite finish for his first goal in a Hoops jersey and Lennon will be hoping the team momentum will carry on into Saturdays Glasgow Derby.

Speaking to Celtic TV , when asked about the performance Lennon said, “Yeah, very good. Well I thought the atmosphere was good going into the game and you know we’re playing a lot of energy and quality and you know we should have won the game buy a lot more. But delighted with teh squad today, the subs that came on played really well as well so clean sheet again and some good goals so yeah delighted.

I thought a reaction to losing the balls was very good. And then the zest in which they played with, you’re trying to work combinations, this lovely ball from Turnbull for Griff you know would have been a brilliant goal. Delighted with the two that we did get, and then, you know, we’ve got some good chances second half to put the game away early.

We scored a lovely third goal, lovely pass from Griff, great finish from Odsonne so delighted for him he’s got a goal from open play and it’s been a while since he’s done that, but all in all really good all around performance”

Lennon was asked about Soro’s Lennon-esque energy in the middle of the park and the Celtic gaffer was lavish in his praise for the young Ivorian, “Yeah he’s played brilliantly. And, you know, thought he passed the ball really crisply. I think he had to get a bit of Fortune with the goal but if you don’t shoot you don’t score. And it means a lot to him to get his first goal so yeah I’m really really pleased with his contribution, and his energy and his reading of the game and he’s very very crisp for the ball at the minute as well.”

High praise indeed for the young man indeed and when asked about Julien’s injury the gaffer replied, “He’s just being assessed so you know we’ll keep our fingers crossed he’ll be ok for Saturday”

After a third clean sheet in a row, the Celtic fans will also be hoping Julien is fit for the Derby as the defence is now starting to hold firm.
