Brendan Rodgers has named his starting eleven for today’s Celtic fixture against Partick Thistle and fans are pleased with some of his decisions.
Coming off the back of three disappointing results, the Hoops boss knows that a win is a must today, especially given it is a knockout cup game. The bid to retain the treble starts very soon.
He’s made a number of changes to his team, perhaps in reaction to a poor performance in Greece, in anticipation of an European away trip this Thursday or simply because he sees the League Cup as a lesser competition.
The full squad is:
Starting XI: Scott Bain; Cristian Gamboa, Jack Hendry, Kristoffer Ajer, Emilio Izaguirre; Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham; Tom Rogic, Mikey Johnston, Scott Sinclair; Leigh Griffiths
Substitutes: Craig Gordon, Jozo Simunovic, Mikael Lustig, Jonny Hayes, James Forrest, Callum McGregor, Moussa Dembele
The decision to drop Lustig for Gamboa is a welcome one for many fans, with plenty pinning the blame on him for Tuesday night’s defensive calamities.
Gamboa has looked bright in the early stages of the season and hopefully he can turn in an impressive performance this afternoon.
