Name: Ben Hutchinson

Position: Striker

BEN HUTCHINSON (LINCOLN);
League Apps 17 (7); Goals 4; Yellows 3;
FA Cup Apps 2; Yellows 1

Ben Hutchinson was signed by Celtic in 2008 from Middlesbrough. He was a player Celtic had high hopes for, however, he suffered a number of injuries, which restricted his first team chances – with Ben making just 5 appearances for the Hoops; all of which he was goalless in.

After scoring 2 goals for a Celtic eleven in pre-season at Sincil Bank, Ben impressed Lincoln City scouts and in doing so attracted the attention of former Celtic legend Chris Sutton. On the 18th August 2010 he was sent to Lincoln City, of League 2, for the duration of the entire season on loan.

Lincoln have played slightly above the 30 game margin this season and Benjamin has a respectable return of 19 appearances under his belt thus far. As a striker though, the primary duty is to find the back of the net, and it’s clear that Hutchinson’s game has suffered since missing out on first team high standard football whilst with the Red Imps. He has a very poor goal per game ratio, having dispatched just 4 opportunities this term.

Even though Ben is gaining experience which should stand him in good stead for the remainder of his career, it would be a tremendous shock should he have any Celtic career of real virtue left considering he is failing to produce the goods in a poor standard of football in comparison to the required ability to fit a Celtic jersey.
