We’re hoping that the January transfer window will be a busy one for Celtic. We’re doing well in the Scottish top flight, but it’s been far from a faultless season.
Especially earlier in the campaign, it was clear that our lack of summer business was having an impact on our form, but we seem to have come out the other side.
Still, a few new faces will help to improve the team, and that’s what we’re expecting over the coming weeks.
However, it appears as though a departure or two could be on the cards, too. According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are ready to send out young defender Jack Hendry on loan, with a number of teams keen. He hasn’t really been able to make an impact in the Scottish top flight this term, and so in truth, this does make sense.
At least, that seems to be the perspective of many Celtic fans, with lots of supporters taking to Twitter to deliver their verdict on a potential move. One has drawn parallels to Callum McGregor, who came back a much-improved player after a loan away.
See what they’ve had to say below…

There were flashes in some games where he looked like he had something. A wee spell away might be whats needed. Mibbes he can do a Christie?

At one point last season I thought Hendry and Ajer could be our partnership at the back for years to come. Hendry has a few bad games which is expected at that stage of his career. In my opinion the OTT criticism from so many of our fans shattered the boy’s confidence.

Jack Hendry out on loan makes sense. You never know he could come back a better player. HH pic.twitter.com/lfbqKJYNxJ

Loans can be good for our players.. look at McGregor.. he went to England on loan and look at him now

Agreed, loan him out. He needs to get better and more game time elsewhere will help. HH

Good luck to him, he needs to play without the pressure and a loan makes sense, possible with an option to buy might suit all involved

He’s got the makings of a decent player – just needs experience

Was a cracking player at Dundee! Poor from Rogers playing him with a bad injury destroying all his confidence and fans didn’t help…he’s certainly no coward so good luck to the lad and I look forward to seeing him back fit and showing all the critics how good he really can be
