As quoted by the Scottish Sun, Hibernian manager and former Celtic man Neil Lennon has said that there might still be a chance John McGinn signs a new deal at Easter Road.

The midfielder is entering the last year of his contract with the Hibees this summer and is being linked away with a move on the regular.

We’re one of the clubs interested in the Scot, too, by all accounts and so what our former midfielder has to say about his current one is, of course, of interest.

Here’s what he had to say:

“We’ve been talking to John for quite a while.

“Nothing is forthcoming, but never say never.”

The Verdict

McGinn is a decent player with plenty of talent – though I think he’d be a squad player for us to start with at least.

Lennon still seems to think there might be a chance he signs a new deal with Hibs but, personally, I think he’ll be moving on sooner rather than later.

Let’s see if we get him in.
