Well we all knew this would happen right?
As soon as the season ended, Celtic would be linked with various transfer targets.
Especially from Japan.
But this afternoon, J League expert Sam Robson not only linked one player with our club, he linked 5 and gave the run down on not only who the players are, but the chances of Celtic signing them.
Speaking on Twitter, Robson said, “We are entering silly season with European Transfer rumours abound.
“Several linked with Celtic here… Tsukasa Morishima (Hiroshima) – Very fine player, would fit the system as one of the two 8’s very well. Atsuki Ito (Urawa) – 23, lots of potential, more of a ball-winner.
“Takahiro Akimoto (Urawa) Striker converted into a left back for much of last season and some of this, lots of qualities going forward.
“Not a left back solution for me. Keisuke Kurokawa (Gamba), Ryoya Ogawa (Tokyo) – No chance, both LBs but Kurokawa is fine at best. Ogawa is poor.”
Wow. It certainly is the silly season and it also seems that as we enter into the opening of the transfer window, more and more rumours are likely to break like this.
Celtic do have some work to do to strengthen this summer and as for the names mentioned here, Morishima would be the one that excites me the most:
