Today is a massive day for Celtic and Ange Postecoglou.

Today, the Celtic gaffer has the opportunity to ram the words of the doubting, and sometimes disrespectful, media’s words down their throats.

The Hoops gaffer is one game away from making his first domestic final.

A feat that escaped former Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, for two years, yet those some media commentators fawned over the Liverpool legend like a teenager with a crush.

It was as embarrassing for the media profession as it was cringeworthy.

But yet, after just less than six months, although nothing is won yet, the turnaround of this Celtic team has been nothing but remarkable, and whether Postecoglou gets any credit for it, we will wait and see.

But speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Mark Guidi was discussing the upcoming fixture against St Johnstone, and made a rather strange comment that certainly raised my eyebrow,  “I think they’re doing well.  I think they are playing well.

“Middle to front, they are pretty special and the big pitch at Hampden tomorrow may may well suit them.

“But that said, they’re against St Johnstone team that love Hampden. They’ve played there four times in 2021 and won four times.

“But Celtic I think they had a wee bit of a Hampden hoodoo, maybe a few years ago and never really played particularly well at Hampden.”

Wait what? What was the point of the comment?

Was the Quadruple Treble all of a sudden airbrushed from history to set the seeds of doubt amongst the fans?

The fans are not daft but neither is Guidi and he seemed to catch himself to go on, “But you think of the semi finals and the finals that they had to win at Hampden to do the Quadruple Treble. They’re over that now and have got a manager that knows his stuff.”

Good effort, but failed at the first hurdle!

Guidi on this occasion is quite right. Prior to Rogers taking over, Celtic struggled at Hampden for a few seasons, but we’ve long time dispelled that hoodoo. Onwards & upwards.

Guidi is just another fanny of a reporter.! He is like the rest of them, they see nothing but blue!. If he says anything against servco, he will find himself out of his lodge!. All tarred with the same brush, and all bigots through and through!.
