Not so long ago John Hartson said if Celtic won the league this season it would be their “greatest ever league title”.  Ahead of the first nine in a row, stopping the ten and the second nine in a row.

I know.  Unreal

At the time I wrote I wasn’t so sure about that stand point,  but Hartson’s argument was that because of the state that the club found itself with no manager, captain, new chief executive and a non existent first team a league winning campaign was way past the horizon. If fact, many Celtic fans wished more than expected that the team would compete this season.

What a difference ten days makes.

On Go Radio, Mark Guidi was discussing Hartson’s opinion and gave his own thoughts on how big an achievement he thought it would be if Celtic won the league, “It’s his (Hartson’s) opinion.

“It can’t be factual. It’s not a science. It’s an opinion, and certainly we can look where Celtic were  just ten days ago, you look at where they were, six weeks ago when I don’t think they had their manager in.

“You look at what they were three months ago.

“You’re looking at where they were eight, nine months ago when the supporters were chasing the team bus.

“And so you look all that and if Celtic where to turn that around, considering how strong Rangers are so if Celtic were to turn it around become champions next May, I’m not going to say it’s going to be the biggest ever, but it would be a  monumental achievement if Celtic where to win the league in May.”

Celtic are stronger than most people, including the fans, think. Scottish football and the punditry game are in for a shock this season.
