Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal is confident he can fill the void left by Victor Wanyama for next week’s Champions League showdown with Spartak Moscow.

“I am training hard so I am ready whenever the gaffer picks me” – Beram Kayal

The highly-rated Kenyan international has already been ruled out through suspension as the hosts chase a place in the final sixteen of the competition. Celtic must better the result of Benfica, who face Barcelona at the Camp Nou, if they are to successfully reach the knockout stages.

“Losing Victor is massive and bad for this game,” Kayal told the Daily Record. “He is an important player but at the same time we have a big squad and everyone helps out to provide cover.

“We all work as a team and do what we can to do our job and we all saw that against Barcelona,” he continued. “We lost a lot of players but we proved we have a big squad who are all capable of doing well. I am training hard so I am ready whenever the gaffer picks me.”
