Mikey is ready to go. Lennon needs to set him loose

Mikey Johnson gave a pre match media interview today and told of his delight at being one hundred percent fit and ready for selection.  The young winger is desperate to get back into action since being laid low with a knee injury he picked up at McDairmid Park back in January.  Johnson underwent surgery on the  injury in August this year and has now got himself back to full fitness and possibly in contention for a start tomorrow tomorrow night against Ross County at Parkhead.

Speaking to Celtic TV Johnson said, “Yeah, as I say, it’s amazing. Coming back in this week. It’s such a big occasion and obviously a comeback at this times.

“I‘m working on my fitness, I’m trying to get back to full fitness and match fitness. And then I’m just going to work hard every single day in training to get myself back to that level again.

“The lockdown obviously didn’t help. I was having to do a lot of work in the house to to get myself back to full fitness, and it was tough, but the club supported me and helped me gave me everything that I needed when I was in the house to do what I had to do to get back.

Asked if he was confident of going on a run of victories, “Yeah, I mean we’ve shown that in the past, that’s a same team that’s we’ve had the last few years and we’ve shown that we’re winners, and we can win games every week so I definitely think we can.

I just feel as if I’m trying to get myself back to full fitness, and if I can help the team, then I’m going to try and make myself available every week, and hopefully I can make a difference to the team.
