The Moussa Dembele situation on Thursday was less dramatic than Wednesday’s events that’s for sure, but his future status at the Hoops is still entirely unclear as we enter what is a critical transfer deadline day for Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers told the press he reckons it’s unlikely the Frenchman will be leaving after the club rejected a substantial offer for his services, although admitted the player wasn’t in the right frame of mind to be able to feature against Lithuanian champions FK Suduva at Celtic Park.

And within the last half an hour things got a little stranger when the player himself posted the cryptic Twitter update below…

Is it related to the situation? Does it mean he’s staying? Is it a dig at broken promises between the club and the player? Did he actually post it? Was it is his agent?

So many questions, so little answers.

Hopefully the answers will become quickly apparent in the morning. The last thing we need is an uncertain and nervy Friday that leaves supporters complete unclear on the situation right up until the deadline.

Here’s hoping everything is OK, the player is happy and ready to do the business heading into the rest of the season. Or, if he’s intent on leaving, let’s hope the club can do great business and bring in a quality replacement.

How it all pans out is anyone’s guess right now.
