As Celtic prepare to take on Motherwell in a crunch fixture at Fir Park this afternoon, gaffer Ange Postecoglou will be delighted that he has no further fresh injury worries as yet.

With every player involved in international duty over the last couple of weeks seemingly returning with a clean bill of health, all Celtic fans were focused on the Japan v Australia match where key man Kyogo Furuhashi was facing up to Tom Rogic’s Socceroos.

With Kyogo impressing, it will be interesting to see if the Celtic talisman can continue his impressive scoring streak for the Hoops.

But, speaking on A Celtic State of Mind, as transcribed by Born Celtic, Paul John Dykes floated an idea that would probably give Celtic fans the fear ahead of today’s kick off against The Steelmen,  “We’ve got players like Kyogo and Rogic that have travelled thousands of miles and then they’re coming back to training tomorrow to prepare for Saturday’s game against Motherwell.

“And I’m wondering, looking at the kind of opportunities, and hopefully, hitting the ground running after the international break.

Is this is an opportunity, would it be a wise move, to perhaps bench Kyogo for the game against Motherwell and introduce the Giakoumakis and give him the opportunity simply because the international exertions?

“But on the subject of this we did get a fleeting appearance from him against Bayer Leverkusen.

He looks like a completely different package, which I think is useful for Celtic. Again how on earth are we going to get him up to match fitness?

Many Celtic fans will buy the idea of giving Giakoumakis some game time but benching Kyogo?

That is a big call and one I don’t think Ange Postecoglou would be of a mind to make.
